Strong winds blew smoke and ash high into the sky on the evening of July 3rd. Here the flames can be seen advancing on the Trout Club and homes at the top of Old San Marcos Road. As these images were taken, authorities were busy closing roads and ordering mandatory evacuation orders on several fronts, including the Painted Cave community near the spot where this image was taken.
