Al Gore and the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change." Gore arrived in Oslo, Norway, in early December 2007 to accept the prize and take part in a three-day series of festivities, including a gala ceremony at Oslo city hall and an internationally-televised rock concert.
